Successful Sports Day!

Some things in life are worth waiting for and St Francis CE Primary Sports Day 2014 certainly fits that description!

After being frustrated by the changeable weather over the past 2 weeks, yesterday the school held it's inclusive, team-based Sports Day and fun was had by all pupils ... as well as the 160 parents and friends who watched from the bank!

Mixed aged teams competed in a mixture of multi-skills events, designed to challenge an array of skills - from accuracy with a javelin or cricket ball, to demonstrating balance on the beam or agility across the ladder - St Francis children tried it all!

After compiling the scores, this year's winners were the Cheetahs, captained by Emilia in Year 6, with a fantastic 460 points. Impressively, they won 4 of the 12 events - most of which had an accuracy element. ...St Francis pupils are clearly 'on target'!

The winning team will receive medals in school assembly very soon.
