Drawing Strand
Drawing skills at St. Francis CE Primary School are explicitly planned to ensure children from EYFS up to Y6 make progress within class units and vertically through school.
Children are taught to draw faces and bodies with increasing accuracy and they learn how to represent different surface textures such as smooth, shiny and rough. They investigate how to represent reflections and moving objects through the use of shading.
The learn from artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Frida Kahlo, Njideka Akunyili Crosby and Banksy.
