Our Topic - The Great Outdoors
We will be learning all about our local area, Cherry Tree. We will be learning about maps and how to use them, including using basic map symbols and directions. Linking in with this work we will be learning how to create and algorithm to programme a move-able toy to follow specific directions.
Our chosen text for literacy is 'Goat and Donkey in the Great Outdoors' by Simon Puttock and Russell Julian. In this story the friends decide where the best place is to set up camp.
In Science we will be learning all about materials and their properties. We will perform an investigation to find out which material would be the best to make a tent for a toy.

Please could all children have their reading book and record in their bag every day. We have specific days for children to read but we will take extra opportunities to do additional listening when we can!
Although we remind them to check their bags every morning, please make sure that your child knows if there is something in their school bag that needs handing to the teachers (eg letters, money etc).
Please be aware that if there is no maths sheet in your child's homework folder, then a task has been set for them on Mathletics.
