Each year, St Francis has participated in the Blackburn with Darwen 'Celebration of Dance' - a huge event which draws schools and their pupils from across the Borough to perform in front a large audience at King George's Hall.
Under the supervision of Mrs Algar, her daughter Tia (a former pupil) and Mrs Havard, St Francis has historically run an after school club for its most talented dancers in Key Stage 2, in order to prepare a routine for the event. Practices usually take place on a Tuesday night after school club (3.30-4.30pm during Spring Term I and II.
In 2013/14, St Francis performed a routine called - 'With Flying Colours' - which was choreographed by Miss Sophie Lowes.
In 2014/15, St Francis then performed a routine based on 'Technology' using the Dolly Parton hit '9-to-5'.
In 2015/16, the school performed a routine called 'Rogue Troopers' (you can watch this performance below!) with a track made famous from the Star Wars Cantina Band.
In 2016/17, our routine was called 'Fantastic Jazz-tastic!' and used an adapted version of the song "Sing, Sing, Sing!" originally made famous by Benny Goodman.
Sadly, the event ended borough-wide for the 2017-18 year, but we are hopeful it may return again to St Francis again in the near future...
