In English this half term we will be learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk following the Talk For Writing model.
We will write our own version of this story, inventing our own characters and events.
We will then be looking at biographies focussing on a 'local hero'.
Our topic is 'There's no place like home'.
In our Geography lessons we will be using Google Earth and Digimaps to locate our local area. Will we be able to find our town? Our street? Our school? Can we find our route to school? What can we find in our local area?
The children will find the answers to all of these questions!
In History we will be again looking at maps of our local area from the present and past and seeing what changes have taken place and why. Has St Francis always been on Cherry Tree Lane? We will also find out about school in the past. What might school have been like at St Francis in the past?
RE for this half term is Harvest and Sukkot and Rules for Living.
The children will learn about Harvest celebrations in our school and other countries.
We will also learn about the Jewish Festival of Sukkot - a festival of thanksgiving.
Rules for Living looks at the rules Christians follow as set out in the Bible by God and Jesus. We will also look at rules followed by other faiths.
